This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to command the respondent authorities to release the petitioner from jail granting the benefit of remission as provided under Section 433/433 Cr.P.C./473/474 of BNSS 2023. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is more than 74 years of age and as per custody certificate dated 09.05.2024, she is languishing in jail for more than 14 years, 03 months and 24 days (total 5227 days). Under the policy framed by the State Government, her name has been forwarded by the Jailer vide letter dated 08.07.2023 alongwith required documents for release of prisoner but the same is still pending consideration. 4.
