It is submitted that the police authorities have intervened and coerced the petitioners to enter into settlement contrary to their interest. It is submitted that the police authorities have no jurisdiction to adjudicate such issues or force the petitioners to enter into settlement. From materials placed on record, it transpires that there is a private dispute between petitioners and private respondent nos.5 to 10 in respect of immovable property.
