Petitioner before this Court wants to be promoted from the post of Sub-inspector to Inspector and claims that after the decision has been taken by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Gorakhpur Circle Gorakhpur dated 21.12.2024 finding force in the representation of petitioner and having allowed the same, his claim for promotion deserved to be considered w.e.f. 29.10.2024. 2. It transpires from the records that papers of petitioner have stood forwarded to the Police Headquarter, Lucknow by the Superindendent of Police, Maharajganj vide letter dated 31.12.2024 but no decision has been taken by the competent authority in the matter till date. 3. In the given facts and circumstances and in view of the pleadings raised in the present petition and the documents brought on records, I consider it appropriate to direct the respondent no. 3 to take a final decision in the matter of claim of petitioner for promotion on the
