The present appeal under Section 374(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, (for short, ‘CrPC’) has been filed assailing the impugned judgment of conviction and order on sentence dated 03.05.2014 and 12.05.2014 respectively, passed by learned Special Judge, P.C. Act (CBI-09), Central District Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi, whereby, the present appellant has been convicted in Corruption Case No. 89/2011 arising out of RC No. 48(A)/04, under Section 7 and Section 13(1)(d) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, (for short, ‘PC Act’), registered with CBI. Vide the aforesaid judgment of conviction and order on sentence, the appellant has been convicted for the offences punishable under Sections 7 and 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the PC Act. The appellant was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years alongwith a fine of Rs. 25,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the PC Act and also sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years alongwith a fine of Rs. 25,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the Act.
