This criminal petition, under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, is filed by the petitioner seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.271 of 2024 of III Town Police Station, Visakhapatnam Commissionerate, registered against him for the alleged offences under Sections 353(2), 352, 351(4), 196(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act 2000-2008. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor appearing for the State. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arraigned as accused in Crime No.271 of 2024 of III Town Police Station, Visakhapatnam Commissionerate, based on the complaint of the 2nd respondent. It is alleged in the complaint that the petitioner posted defamatory content on social media platforms against the political leaders and their family members.
