Basu Vs. State of West Bengal : (1997) 1 SCC 416 and Due Maintenance & Verification of Date of Birth in school records in Uttar Pradesh' whereas the office registered the present petition as 'In Re Due Maintenance and Verification of Date of Birth'. 2. A perusal of the order indicates that the Coordinate Bench, after noticing the requirements laid down in the case of D.K. Basu (supra) in para 20, in para 21 indicated the issues of grave public importance pertaining to the arrest/detention by the Police and the issue pertaining to the date of birth essentially is a subsidiary issue. 3.
