Under challenge is the judgement rendered by the writ Court in Writ-A No.625 of 2022 (Pramod Kumar Awasthi vs. State of U.P. and others) wherein the seniority claimed by the appellant from the initial date of his engagement as daily wager has been rejected. Admittedly, the services of the appellant on a Group-D post were regularized under Uttar Pradesh Regularization of Daily Wages (Appointment on Group-D Posts) Rules, 2001 with effect from 30.10.2002. It is thus clear that the appellant became a member of service from the date of regularization, contrary to which the claim of seniority would not lie. The writ Court having appreciated the matter in the light of statutory rules has rejected the claim. The
