This petition purportedly in the public interest has been filed by the petitioner seeking to question the encroachment over Gata Nos. 623, 624, 627, 628 & 629. 2. Submissions have been made that the land in question has been acquired for National Highways Authority of India, however, the same is in possession of encroachers and, therefore, the same be got vacated from the encroachers. 3. A perusal of the record indicates that for the encroachment in question, the District Magistrate - Pilibhit, has been taking action and it has been reported that as the land vests in NHAI, the action, if any, has to be taken at the instance of NHAI.
