On the allegation that he had submitted a forged Employment Exchange Card while applying for recruitment to the post of Constable (Exe) in the Delhi Police in 2002, FIR 185/2004 was lodged against the respondent under Sections 420/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code, 18601 at PS Mukherjee Nagar. Following this, on the same allegations, a Departmental Enquiry was also initiated against the respondent, under the provisions of the Delhi Police (Punishment and Appeals) Rules, 19802 vide order dated 27 July 20123. During the pendency of the disciplinary proceedings, the respondent was convicted of the charges against him in FIR 185/2004 by judgment dated 22 May 2015, rendered by the learned Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate5, Rohini.
