The present bail application has been filed on behalf of applicant Vijay Chandra Mauraya, under Section 439 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, with a prayer to release him on bail in Case Crime No. 117 of 2024, under Sections 8/18 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, registered at Police Station Handia, District Prayagraj, during pendency of the trial. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that as per FIR, on 14.03.2024 the Police received information from the Mukhbir that opium crop had been grown in the agricultural land of the accused from which opium poppy was extracted.
