This writ petition purportedly in public interest has been filed seeking removal of encroachment from Gata Nos.247 and 248 situated at 246 Ander Orchha Gata, Jhansi. 2. Submissions have been made that the property in question an Imambara is under encroachment of respondent no.6 and, therefore, the respondents be directed to remove the said encroachment. 3. A perusal of the record (Annexure-1) indicates that the property in question has been registered under the Waqf Act, 1995 (in short, 'the Act, 1995'). 4. Once the property in question is registered under the Act, 1995, the Waqf Committee has to initiate proceedings for removal of encroachment under the provisions of the said Act.
