The petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents for installation of statue of freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Rao Kadam Singh in the Meerut City as well as renaming public institutions like Victoria Park, Hospitals, University, Bus stands etc. in the name of the said freedom fighter. 2. The petition, which has been filed in public interest and seeks mandamus, as noticed herein before, falls beyond the scope of a public interest litigation and no mandamus of this nature can be issued by the Courts. 3. In view thereof, we do not find any reason to entertain the present petition. The same is, therefore, dismissed, leaving it open for the petitioner to pursue the cause with the respondents.
