The prayer in this writ petition is for quashing of a show cause notice dated 6 August 2024, issued by the respondents under Rule 10(3) of the Border Security Force Rules, 1969, proposing termination of the petitioner’s service. The petitioner had submitted a reply to the show cause notice. The respondents have thereafter filed an additional affidavit dated 6 December 2025, paragraph 3 of which read as under: “3. The reply submitted by the petitioner against the said Show Cause Notice for the proposed action vide letter dated 18th Aug 2024 has been duly considered and accepted by the Competent Authority to the extent that the proposed action mentioned in the said Show Cause Notice shall not be initiated. Accordingly, during the pendency of case, the HQ DG BSF (Personnel Directorate: Confidential Section) vide order No. 17/52/202/Pers/7P/ BSF/27056-60 dated 17th July, 2025 has intimated the petitioner that your reply to the said Show Cause Notice received vide letter Signature Not Verified Digitally Signed By:AJIT W.P.(C) 11851/2024 Page 1 of 2 KUMAR Signing Date:10.12.2025 19:21:03 dated 18th Aug 2024 has been accepted by the Competent Authority.
