By means of this petition filed under Article 226, petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to command the respondents to pay the petitioner's salary between 19.6.1995 and 08.02.2007, the period for which the petitioner was wholly illegally restrained from discharging duties on account of the order passed dated 21.06.1995. 3. It is argued that the petitioner was having requisite eligibility for being possessed of the Urdu Diploma, namely, Adibe-A-Mahir obtained from Aligarh Muslim University and accordingly, he was rightly selected and appointed as 'Urdu Translator-cum-Junior Clerk'.
