Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Standing Counsel. 2. At the very outset learned Standing Counsel submits that petitioner has an effacacious alternnative remedy of appeal available under Rule 20 of the U.P. Police Officers of Subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. 3. Shri Vinod Kumar Mishra, learned counsel for petitioner could not dispute the above. 4. In view of the above, while I decline to interfere with the order impugned at this stage, I hereby provide that in the event petitioner prefers appeal within a period of four weeks from today, the appellate authority shall dispose of the same on merits within a further period of two months.
