By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution petitioner has challenged the orders passed by the disciplinary authority as well as the appellate authority. 3. Learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel raises a preliminary objection as to the maintainability of this petition on the ground of availability of efficacious alternative remedy of revision under the U.P. Police Officer of Subordinate Rank (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. 4. Learned counsel for petitioner could not dispute the above. 5. In view of the above I decline to grant indulgence in the matter at this stage. However, it is provided that in the event petitioner prefers a revision before the competent authority within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be disposed of by the competent authority within the next two months by means of reasoned and speaking order. 6.
