By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has preferred this petition as prayed for quashing of the order of suspension dated 9th January, 2018 passed by the disciplinary authority under the U.P. Police Officers of the Subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. Learned Standing Counsel has raised a preliminary objection as to the maintainability of the writ petition as petitioner has efficacious alternative remedy of appeal under the relevant rules. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner states that statutory period prescribed for preferring appeal in revision has already expired. Having heard learned counsel for the respective parties and having perused the records, I consider it appropriate that in the event petitioner prefers an appeal before the appellate authority within a period of four week
