By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has assailed the order of punishment as well as the order passed by disciplinary authority in disciplinary proceedings. Learned Standing Counsel has raised a preliminary objection on the maintainability of this petition on the ground of alternative remedy of revision under the Uttar Pradesh Police Officers of the Subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. Learned counsel for the petitioner could not dispute the above legal position.
