Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:136134 Court No. - 4 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 11528 of 2025 Petitioner :- Ram Keshav Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 3 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Ashish Kumar Yadav,Mohammad Qais,Neha Rani,Satyvendra Singh Yadav Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Ajit Kumar,J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing Counsel. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has questioned the order of punishment dated 26.03.2025. Learned Standing Counsel has raised preliminary objection as to the maintainability of this petition on the ground that there is an alternative efficacious remedy of statutory appeal available to the petitioner under the U.P. Police Officers of the Subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. To this above objection, learned counsel for the petitioner could not dispute. Accordingly, I decline to grant indulgence in the matter at this stage. However, it is provided that if petitioner prefers statutory departmental appeal under the relevant rules within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be heard and disposed of within a further period of two months
