By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to command the respondents to pay the amended salary to the petitioner w.e.f. 01.12.2008 till 01.10.2015 along with interest thereupon. Learned Standing Counsel on the contrary questions the maintainability of this petition at the instance of the wife of deceased employee when the deceased employee himself was satisfied with the order dated 31.05.2018, whereby, taking recourse to the provisions contained in the Government Order dated 22.12.2016 and the option applied on 01.01.2016 the deceased employee was given benefit of revised pay fixation w.e.f. 01.12.2008 and the entire arrears were paid to him vide order dated 31.05.2018.
