After some argument, learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner wants to press the second prayer made in the writ petition as his departmental appeal dated 5th July, 2024 has remained pending before the appellate authority and for this reason the petitioner's claim for promotion has not been accorded due consideration in the matter. Learned Standing Counsel submits that he has no objection in the event petitioner's departmental appeal is directed to be decided in accordance with law. In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with a direction to the concerned respondent to consider and decide the departmental appeal of the petitioner in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
