This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioner alleging encroachment over the public land. 2. The Nagar Palika Parishad has put in appearance and indicated that steps have been taken for clearing the encroachment. 3. Thrice time was given for the purpose of ensuring that the encroachment is removed and that the land is protected and thereafter the respondents were directed to file affidavit to indicate the status of the land in question. 4. An affidavit has been filed inter alia giving out details of the land in question and indicating that the encroachment thereon has been cleared. Further indications have been made that as the land in question is being used as a Pathway, the same has been protected from any encroachment, however, the a
