This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioner claiming himself to be a social worker, seeking a direction to the respondents to recover the penalty imposed against various Information Officers in the entire State for violation of the Right to Information Act, 2005. 2. When a query was put to counsel for the petitioner as to how the prayer made would be in public interest, submission has been made that by recovering the said amount, the same will be used for welfare of the society. 3. We find that the submission made, seeking to justify the filing of the petition, cannot be countenanced.
