Heard Mr. Afjal Ahmad, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. Surendra Singh, learned A.G.A. for the State. 2. Present criminal appeal arises from the judgment and order dated 29.11.1984 passed by Shri M.C. Jain, the then learned Special Judge (E.C. Act)/Additional Sessions Judge, Kanpur, in Sessions Trial No. 479 of 1983 (State vs Buchi alias Puchi alias Anisur Rahman). By that order, the learned court below has convicted the appellant for offence under Section 302 I.P.C. read with Section 34 I.P.C. Accordingly, he has been awarded life imprisonment. 3. Upon the present appeal being filed, the appellant was enlarged on bail vide order dated 16.05.1988. The present appeal has remained pending for 37 years since then.
