The present criminal appeal has arisen from the judgment and order of conviction dated 08.08.2001 passed by Sri Jagidish Prasad, Special/Sessions Judge, Lalitpur in Special Case No.47 of 2000 (State Vs. Badri), under Sections 376 & 506 IPC and Section 3(1)(xii) Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, P.S. Mahroni, District Lalitpur, convicting the accused appellant and sentencing him to undergo life imprisonment for the offence under Section 376 IPC; rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months for the offence under Section 506 IPC and rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months for the offence punishable under Section 3(1)(xii) Scheduled Castes and Schedule
