Use Niyam Through a Durable WhatsApp Channel
Niyam now supports a durable WhatsApp channel for linked users, with the same core workflows routed through chat and secure handoffs where needed.
What changed
Niyam now supports a durable WhatsApp channel in beta. Instead of WhatsApp acting as a one-way notification surface, it can now carry real work through the same underlying Niyam services used on the web. Registration, account linking, follow-up actions, and document handoffs all route through the canonical Niyam domain rather than a separate chat-only data store.
That distinction matters because the WhatsApp experience is designed as another way to reach the same system of record, not as a parallel product with its own incomplete view of your work. Where a browser is still the right place to finish an action, Niyam issues a secure handoff rather than forcing the whole workflow into chat.
How to use it
- Start from the supported Niyam WhatsApp channel.
- Complete the linking or registration flow when prompted so the channel is tied to the correct Niyam account.
- Use the available commands and guided prompts in chat to move work forward.
- When a task is better completed in the browser — such as reviewing a document or opening a generated file — use the secure handoff link Niyam sends.
- Return to WhatsApp when you want to continue from the channel again.
Why it matters
Many legal workflows begin away from a desk: outside court, between meetings, while coordinating with a client, or while following up on a filing. A durable WhatsApp channel makes Niyam available in those moments without splitting your account, billing state, documents, or permissions into a second system. You reach the same Niyam workflows from a different surface.
The handoff model is equally important. Chat is useful for quick actions and continuity, but some steps still need a full browser surface. Secure handoffs let the conversation stay light while the sensitive or document-heavy step moves into the environment best suited for it.
Good to know
- This channel is in beta. The set of supported workflows will continue to expand.
- WhatsApp acts as a channel into Niyam, not as a separate legal-data store.
- Secure handoffs are used when a browser is the safer or clearer place to complete a step.
- Account linking and authorization checks still apply. The chat surface does not bypass your normal access controls.
