The present civil writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent-Department to grant the petitioners all notional benefits and consequential benefits. Further, to grant the said benefits from the date of their appointment and grant the arrears along with interest @ 18% per annum from the date of their appointment till the release of the aforesaid benefits. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia contends that the denial to notional and consequential benefits to the petitioners while granting them seniority, is illegal, arbitrary and unjust.
