The present writ petition has been instituted under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the impugned action of the respondents whereby only a sum of Rs.11,23,596/- has been reimbursed to the petitioner against the total medical expenditure of Rs.17,19,138/- incurred by him on the treatment of his wife at an approved empanelled hospital, namely Fortis Hospital, Mohali. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner joined government service on 09.11.1973 as Agriculture Sub Inspector and, after rendering long and unblemished service, attained the age of superannuation and retired from service on 31.03.2002.
