The present petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent-State to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners, who are facing imminent threats at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 9 and to take action on their representation dated 24.06.2026 (Annexure P-6). 2. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have recently filed a representation on 24.06.2026 before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur (Annexure P-6) raising their grievances as mentioned in the present petition but the same has not yet been considered and no action has been taken thereon. He further submitted that at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied if appropriate directions are issued to respondent
