The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners and also directing the respondents No.5 to 8 not to interfere in the personal lives and liberty of the petitioners and to take action on their representation dated 16.06.2026 (Annexure P-5). 2. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have recently filed a representation on 16.06.2026 before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), District Amritsar (Annexure P-5) raising their grievances as mentioned in the present petition but the same has not yet been considered and no action has been taken thereon.
