The present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for setting aside the order dated 24.07.2025 (Annexure P-3) passed by the District Magistrate, Gurdaspur whereby the application moved by the petitioner seeking temporary release on parole for a period of eight weeks has been rejected. 2. The petitioner stands convicted in FIR No.131 dated 27.11.2020 registered under Sections 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985 at Police Station Shekhwan, District Gurdaspur. Vide judgment dated 12.11.2024, he has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for ten years with fine.
