Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of appropriate directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3, to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents, and not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are in live-in-relationship and are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 14.07.2026 (Annexure P-5) was also made to respondent No.2- Superintendent of Police, District Karnal, for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain.
