The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the action of the respondents whereby the claim of the petitioners in refixing the pay at level 5 as per 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations, corresponding to the pay scale of Rs.5910- 20200+3000 Grade Pay being attached to the post of Medical Laboratory Technician Grade-II as on 01.01.2006, has been rejected. Further seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant them the pay scale as per the Service Rules applicable to the post of the petitioners i.e. pay scale of Rs.10300-34800+3600 Grade Pay and to grant them the arrears of salary along with interest @ 18% from the date the amount became due till the date of payment. 2.
