This appeal is filed challenging the Judgment and order dated 27.06.2006 passed in Special Case No. 8 of 2002 by the learned Special Judge, Kalyan at Kalyan holding the Appellant/Accused No.1 guilty for offence punishable under Section 7 and 13(2) read with Section 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (‘the said Act’ for short). By the impugned Judgment and Order, the Appellant is sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.2,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to suffer further rigorous imprisonment for 6 months for offence punishable under Section 7 of the said Act.
