This petition, purportedly in public interest has been filed by the petitioners seeking a direction to the respondents not to interfere in the land in dispute being Gata No. 146-Ka situated at Jaigaha, Tehsil Sagri, District Azamgarh from being used as graveyard or cremation ground. 2. Submissions have been made that the land in question, though recorded as navin parti, it is being used as graveyard/cremation ground and a resolution has been passed by Nagar Palika Parishad on 28.01.2025 requiring the Sub Divisional Officer to record the same as cremation ground, however, on the one hand no action for the same has been taken, on the other hand, the land in question is being used for construction of a police station, which is not justified. 3.
