Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Standing Counsel. 2. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution petitioner has prayed for following relief: "a) issue, a writ order or direction, in the nature of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to add the service period of Army in the present service of the petitioner in U.P. Police Department accordance with law. b) issue, a writ order or direction, in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondents to re-fix the salary of the petitioner as on the date of his appointment as Constable in Civil Police by protecting the salary received by the petitioner as ex-servicemen at the time of discharge from the Army. c) issue, a writ order or direction, in the nature of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to disburse to the petitioner the arrears of his salary from the date of his initial appointment till date in accordance with the salar
