By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution petitioners have prayed for following reliefs: "a) Issue, writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus and direct the respondents to consider and promote the petitioners to the rank of Sub-Inspector (Civil Police ) from Head Constable (Civil POlice) w.e.f. the date Juniors to them in the cadre Head Constables (Civil Police), have been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector (Civil Police) and pay them salary applicable to the rank and post of Sub-Inspector (Civil Police), month to month, within a specified time frame. b) Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus and direct the respondents to otherwise, consider and pass a speaking and reasoned order disposing the representations of the petitioners dated 01.01.2025, 13.09.2024 and 23.02.2024 within a specified time frame." 2.
