# Bring Your Chamber Into One Workspace

> Invite your team, assign per-seat roles, and share matters and work across your chamber from a single workspace.

New · 20 June 2026

Most legal work is a team effort: a senior, a few associates, and a clerk all working on the same brief. Team workspaces let your whole chamber operate inside one shared Niyam account, with access calibrated appropriately for each person's role.

## What changed

You can now invite colleagues into a shared workspace rather than everyone maintaining separate, disconnected accounts. Matters, research, drafts, and library items can be shared and collaborated on across the team.

- Invite team members by email from the Team section in Settings.
- Assign each seat a **role** — Owner, Admin, or Member — that controls what that person can see and do.
- Shared matters are visible across the whole team so everyone working on a case sees the same file, the same proceeding history, and the same linked work.
- Credits are pooled across the workspace, with per-seat usage visible so you can see where they are going.
- Manage seats from one place as your team changes: update roles, add new members, or remove access when someone moves on.

## Roles at a glance

**Owner** — Full control over the workspace, including billing, subscription management, and everything below. One Owner per workspace.

**Admin** — Can invite and remove members, manage shared matters and work, and configure workspace settings. Cannot access billing or modify the subscription.

**Member** — Full access to research, drafting, matters, and notices for day-to-day legal work. Cannot manage other team members or touch billing settings.

## How to use it

1. Open **Settings**, then select **Team**.
2. Choose **Invite member** and enter the email address of the colleague you want to add.
3. Select the appropriate role for the seat. Member is right for most associates and support staff. Admin suits those who need to manage the team.
4. Send the invitation. Once they accept, they join the workspace with exactly the access level you assigned.
5. To adjust a member's role or remove their access, return to the Team screen at any time and update from there.

## Why it matters

When a chamber shares one workspace, knowledge stops living in individual inboxes. A research answer one associate ran is visible to the associate who picks up the same brief the following week. A matter the senior set up can be updated by the junior after each hearing without any file having to be forwarded. The clerk can keep hearing dates current without needing a separate system to sync with everyone else.

The alternative is a familiar tax: forwarding documents back and forth, copying matter details into shared spreadsheets, and briefing a colleague on a case they could simply open and read. Each of those hand-offs is a moment where context is lost or a detail is missed. A shared workspace removes the hand-offs.

Roles keep the openness safe. Not everyone in a chamber needs to be able to change the billing plan or remove other members, and now they do not have to be able to. The three-level structure is simple enough to assign without explanation but sufficient to protect the things that matter most.

## Good to know

- Credits are shared across the workspace. Top-ups cover the whole team, and per-seat usage is visible in the analytics section so you can track consumption.
- Removing a member revokes their access immediately but does not delete the work they contributed. Everything they produced or linked stays with the workspace.
- A workspace can have multiple Admins and Members, but only one Owner. Ownership can be transferred if needed.
- Invitations expire after seven days. If a colleague did not act on their invite in time, you can resend it from the Team screen.
